Surgical Procedures - Face and Neck Lift

Face and Neck Lift

A Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift is an advanced surgical procedure designed to address more significant signs of ageing in the mid-face, jawline and neck by repositioning the deeper structural layers of the face rather than just tightening the skin. Unlike traditional facelift techniques, this approach releases and lifts the underlying muscle and connective tissue layer (SMAS) as a single unit, allowing for longer-lasting results without a pulled or tight appearance.

How Is This Procedure Performed?

The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia. During the procedure, incisions are typically made around the ears and sometimes under the chin, enabling the surgeon to lift sagging cheeks, soften deep folds, redefine the jawline, and improve neck contour. Because the deeper tissues are repositioned, the skin can be redraped with minimal tension, often resulting in smoother healing and more subtle scarring.

Downtime

Recovery usually takes 1-2 weeks, with bruising and swelling gradually improving within the first week.

Scars

Scars are placed discreetly under the chin, around the ears and within the hairline which typically become less noticeable over time.

Risks and complications

Risks include bleeding, infection, nerve injury, scarring and asymmetry.
